The Albino Rocca winery has been producing great Barbaresco wines for decades and is one of the top producers in the entire wine-growing region . Their Barbareso wines are characterized by their seductive elegance, velvety structure and great complexity.
The Barbaresco Ronchi 2019 is the most representative wine of this winery because this is where the family winery was born . The grapes from this location have been fermented into wine for many generations, starting with great-great-grandfather Carlo, who was one of the founding members of the Cantina Sociale di Barbaresco in 1894. Cru Ronchi is planted with 50 to 70 year old vines on marl-calcareous soils rich in minerals.
The Ronchi grapes are handpicked in autumn and only the best berries are used for fermentation. This usually lasts 30 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is then matured in 20 hectolitre oak barrels from Austria and finally the Barbaresco is in the bottle for six months.
Balsamic cherry, wild rose and chalky, mineral notes on the nose . Mature and generous on the palate, yet very elegant. Juicy and long, with finely ground, supple tannins. A beautiful wine that can be enjoyed now. The drinking window extends to 2036. A good accompaniment to roasts, lamb, game and mature cheeses.
