Jancis Robinson review: "It smells of deep red roses and wild cherries, and it smells like the moment you lift a log in the forest and the earth below, the mushrooms, the rotting foliage and the scent of mycorrhizal life rises and fills your nostrils with something so deep you can feel its primeval resonance in your veins.
"Red elegance and purity. So much purity! It makes my spine tingle. A 'simple' Nebbiolo d'Alba and yet a wine imbued with a microscopic beauty. This wine has a calm, gentle, but purposeful Soul. Brava Sara!"
The grapes for the Sara Vezza Nebbiolo wine 2019 DOC come from different family vineyards, all located in the municipality of Monforte D'Alba.
The hand picking of the grapes usually takes place in October and the carefully selected berries are lightly pressed and destemmed. Fermentation then takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 30°/ 32°. Then the expansion begins, which takes place for the wine in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels and lasts 18 months. Finally, the wine is then stored in the bottle during the final phase of aging.
The Nebbiolo wine smells of dark red roses and wild cherries, but earthy and mineral notes also complement the variety of aromas. On the palate you can feel the whole race, purity and elegance of this wine. This actually so "simple" Nebbiolo exudes such purity, balance and charm that makes it very drinkable.
We recommend the Sara Vezza Nebbiolo Wine 2019 DOC with antipasti, poultry and pasta dishes. The wine is ready to drink immediately and the next six years.
