Since the early 1960s, the Monchiero has owned vineyards on the Rocche di Castiglione vineyard and has been producing this Barolo red wine ever since. The southeast-facing vineyard and the marly-sandy soil give the wine floral aromas and fine tannins.
After hand-picking in October, the carefully selected grapes are fermented in special stainless steel fermentation tanks. The subsequent maturation takes place in large oak barrels and lasts 52 months. Finally, the Barolo is stored in the bottle in the maturing cellar for two more years, which makes the wine even softer.
A deep and full-bodied Barolo with a lot of complexity. Floral and fruity notes predominate on the nose. On the palate there is a great balance between ripe but still compact fruit and present tannins that are well balanced with the juicy acidity.
Goes well with roasts, lamb, game and mature cheeses. Our drinking recommendation: 2022-2032.
