"This 2017 Parussi is an incredibly noble Barolo" Antonio Galliono (Vinuos)
The grapes for the Massolino Barolo Parussi 2017 DOCG come from the municipality of Castiglione Falletto. A few years ago the family was able to acquire a 1.3 hectare site there, which is the first site outside of Serralunga D'Alba for the winery.
The manual harvest takes place in the second half of October. After the berries have been destemmed, fermentation then takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is then matured in large oak barrels and this process takes at least 30 months. The subsequent aging in the bottle, which usually takes a year, takes place in dark and cool storage rooms provided for this purpose.
The grapes for this wine come from different sub-zones of the Parussi Crus. This gives the wine a broad and beautiful spectrum of aromas, ranging from spicy to sweeter, floral and fruity aromas. On the palate you can feel the powerful tannin structure with an incredible coolness and minerality. This wine shows an extraordinary balance and elegance. With a little time, everything looks more and more velvety, smooth and tightly woven. The finale is long lasting and grandiose. Enjoy it now and until 2040. Definitely decant before enjoying! This parussi goes perfectly with mature cheeses, roasts, red meat and game.
