The grapes for the 2022 Diego Conterno Langhe Nebbiolo DOC come from the Ferrione vineyard, located on the edge of the municipality of Monforte D'Alba. The name Baluma means “Let's dance!” in the local dialect, which is why the bottle label shows an image of a dancing couple.
The berries are hand-picked at the end of September/beginning of October and then the grapes are completely destemmed and gently pressed. Spontaneous fermentation then takes place with native yeasts in a temperature-controlled stainless steel container. Maturation then takes place both in 500l oak barrels and in cement tanks. After a short time in the bottle, the Nebbiolo finally goes on sale.
The result is a very high quality Nebbiolo with a floral and fruity bouquet, characterized by notes of violet, strawberry and cherry. On the palate it impresses with ripe fruit, good structure and fine tannins that are very well balanced with the alcohol. Drinking window: 2023-2030
