A beautifully balanced Barolo from a renowned location with great development potential.
Gianmarco Ghisolfi produces a Barolo that is at its best. Red berries dominate the nose with a hint of herbs and cedar wood. On the palate, the Bussia is straightforward and youthfully tart with good structure and density. Fine-grained tannins enliven this Barolo, while the pleasantly fresh acidity keeps it concentrated.
The wine is ready to drink immediately, but unfolds its great potential over many years. The wine ages in large oak barrels for 30 months, followed by six months of aging in bottle. A wonderful accompaniment to game, red meat, roasts and mature cheeses. The winery operates organic viticulture.
The Ghisolfi family has been making wine for generations, preserving the rich history and heritage of the Langhe region. The winery is idyllically located on the edge of the municipality of Monforte D'Alba, adjacent to the neighboring municipality of Castiglione Falletto. The Ghisolfi vineyards are all located in one of the most prestigious areas for the cultivation of the Nebbiolo grape, which forms the basis for first-class Barolo. The combination of favorable terroir conditions and the family's care in winemaking results in Barolo and other wines of the highest quality and expressiveness.
This Barolo is at its best when served with red meat, especially game, steak and dishes with truffles. It also goes excellently with meat sauce, risotto and medium-ripened cheese made from cow's and goat's milk.
